Fr. George Plappallil (shaji achan)'s Funeral will be on 28th feb. 2011
Fr. George Plappallil (shaji achan)36yrs. died in an accident. The accident occured today on 24th feb. 2011. Funeral will be on 28th feb. 2011. Prayers at home will start at 9.00 am and the funeral ceremony will be at St. Xavier's Forane Church, Thrickodithanam at 11.00 am. Please visit Madhyastan TV to see the prayers held at Pushpagiri medical college, Thiruvalla. Mar Joseph Perumthottam Archbishop also came to offer his prayers to the departed priest.

പാഠപുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ ചര്‍ച്ചാവിഷയമായാല്‍ മാത്രം മതിയോ?
പാഠപുസ്തകത്തെക്കുറിച്ച്‌ ചര്‍ച്ചയാകാമെന്ന്‌ ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഭരണാധികാരികള്‍ പറയുന്നു. പുസ്തകം രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന അവസരത്തില്‍ ഈ ചര്‍ച്ച പാര്‍ശ്വവര്‍ത്തികളോടല്ലാതെ മറ്റുള്ളവരോടുമാകാമായിരുന്നു. വാസ്തവത്തില്‍ പുസ്തകമെഴുതുന്നതിനു സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന സാധാരണക്രമം പോലും ഇവിടെ പാലിച്ചി ട്ടില്ലെന്നാണ്‌ കേള്‍വി. പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും പുതിയ ഒരു സമ്പ്രദായം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന വേളയില്‍ വേണ്ടത്ര ചര്‍ച്ച നടത്തേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ ചര്‍ച്ച നടത്താമെന്ന്‌ പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിലും അതിനുള്ള തുറവുണ്ടോയെന്ന്‌ ബലമായ സംശയമുണ്ട്‌. കാരണം പാഠപുസ്തകത്തെ എതിര്‍ക്കുന്ന മതാദ്ധ്യക്ഷന്‍മാര്‍ യു.ഡി.എഫിണ്റ്റെ വക്താക്കളാണ്‌, അവര്‍ പുസ്തകം വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, ഈ തര്‍ക്കമെല്ലാം ദുരുപരിഷ്ടമാണ്‌ എന്നെല്ലാം പറയുന്നവര്‍ക്ക്‌ ഒരു തുറന്ന ചര്‍ച്ചയ്ക്കുള്ള മനോഭാവം ഉണ്ടാകുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളില്‍ തങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നു ഭിന്നമായി ചിന്തിക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം പ്രതിലോമകാരികളെന്നോ, ഇല്ലായ്മ ചെയ്യപ്പെടേണ്ടവരെന്നോ കരുതുന്ന ഒരു സിദ്ധാന്തത്തിണ്റ്റെ വക്താക്കള്‍ക്ക്‌ ഫലപ്രദമായ സംവാദം സാദ്ധ്യമാണോ എന്നുപോലും മിക്കവര്‍ക്കും സംശയമുണ്ട്‌. പ്രതിപക്ഷബഹുമാനമെന്ന പ്രാഥമിക ജനാധിപത്യവ്യവസ്ഥ അറിയില്ലെങ്കില്‍ ചര്‍ച്ചകൊണ്ട്‌ എന്തുഫലം എന്നതു ന്യായമായ ചോദ്യമാണ്‌. മറ്റു രാഷ്ട്രീയകക്ഷികള്‍ മതവിശ്വാസത്തിണ്റ്റെ കാര്യവും പറയുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അത്‌ അവരുടെ പാര്‍ട്ടികളില്‍ ബഹുഭൂരിപക്ഷവും മതവിശ്വാസികളാണെന്ന്‌ അറിയാവുന്നതുകൊണ്ടായിരിക്കണം. അല്ലാതെ ഈ എതിര്‍പ്പ്‌ ഗൂഢാലോചനയുടെ ഫലമാണെന്ന്‌ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നത്‌ സാമാന്യമര്യാദ പോലുമല്ല.
